St. Augustine, Florida Lighthouse

Are you looking for last minute late travel deals?

Florida is your state to find late summer travel deals. Discover over 20 Lighthouses in Florida. My favorite has been the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The view is spectacular from the top. Marsh lands on one side and the ocean on the other.

The 161-foot tower has 6 flights of spiral stairs ascending to the lantern. The Lighthouse is painted with black and white spiral bands.

Historians say Ponce de Leon discovered St. Augustine in 1513. It was the earliest port and the busiest harbor in Florida.

St. Augustine is the nation’s oldest city. An abundance of history can be found in this Florida town, and is a perfect place to spend a day or two. You will find the best-fried shrimp you have ever had at Osteen’s Restaurant on Anastasia Blvd, across the Bridge of Lions.
